Jiandu documentation
Jiandu is a self-hosted document library for a household or another small, trusted group. It keeps the original files under your control, adds a browser-based filing workflow, and gives administrators deliberate controls for access, backups, and integrations.
Choose a path
- New to Jiandu? Read Why Jiandu, then follow the Docker Compose installation.
- Already running it? Use the administration guides for accounts, backups, monitoring, and recovery.
- Looking up a setting or command? Go directly to References.
- Something failed? Search the exact message or use the error message guide.
:::tip Start small Get one local installation working, import a few representative documents, and test a restore before exposing Jiandu to other devices. The deployment checklist walks through that progression. :::
Documentation versions
The Latest (main) docs describe the current main branch. A major release tag publishes a durable N.x snapshot, which remains selectable from the version menu after main moves on.
